Privacy & student data — what we do and don't do.
We are not making certification claims. Below is the actual posture of our schools offering, in plain language, so your IT, legal, and parent stakeholders can make an informed decision.
- We don't train models on student data.
- We don't collect student PII as part of teacher courses.
- We don't claim FERPA, COPPA, SOC2, or state-AI-policy certification.
- Teacher courses train staff on workflow design — student data does not enter the loop.
- Student-facing curriculum (9-12, Higher Ed) is AI literacy material — we don't provide AI tutors that interact with student records.
- Courses align with US Department of Education AI Toolkit (2024-2025) and ISTE standards where applicable.
- Where we engage with school IT, we follow the school's data-handling rules — your DPA template overrides our defaults.
Florida-based schools should be aware of the state-level AI parental-notification statute. Aeroxis is Florida-headquartered and our Schools program defaults align with that statute. If your district has its own policy, we follow yours.
The June-2025 COPPA amendments (full compliance April 2026) require separate parental consent when children's data is used for AI training. Our schools program does not use children's data for any model training, so this requirement does not apply to courses purchased from us. If you adapt our materials and integrate them with student-facing AI tools, you may need to satisfy this requirement separately.
